City wedding Amsterdam
Kate & Alex, a sweet and stylish American couple choose me to be the wedding photographer for their Amsterdam wedding with French vibes.
After their engagement became a fact, Kate moved from Colorado America to the Netherlands for her work. Her partner Alex followed her a few months later. To celebrate their love, they had to choose a new “home”. Both Alex and Kate doubted whether they would celebrate their wedding in the Netherlands or would rather do it in the mountains of Colorado. Eventually, they chose a wedding in the capital of their new home country, Amsterdam.
” The wedding would be a perfect opportunity to introduce their loved ones to their new home”
Friends and family left in America were greatly missed. Therefore, the wedding would be a perfect opportunity to introduce their loved ones to their new home. The starting point was a cosy and intimate wedding in a relaxed atmosphere. Both Kate and Alex expressed a wish that they especially wanted to spend a lot of time with the guests.
“Alex asked his father if he would like to help him get dressed. The smile on his face was priceless”
On the morning of the wedding, it felt like the sun gave me a warm welcome. As a wedding photographer in The Netherlands I love weddings in cities like Amsterdam! The bustling city embraced me when I entered Hotel Arena. Once upstairs I ran into Alex. His brothers and father entered the hotel room, thinking about the promise he was going to make later that day. Alex asked his father if he would like to help him get dressed. The smile on his face was priceless. Some light-hearted jokes were made by Alex’s brothers. The atmosphere was pleasant and loving.
I left the men alone and continued on my way to Kate. In a separate suite on the other side of the hotel, she was made even more beautiful than she already was. The luxurious suite was filled with the warmth of the bride, but also by her 2 friends, her sister and mother. They drank Mimosa to release healthy tension. Kate couldn’t wait to see Alex. Finally she would marry the love of her life.
“For a split second, you think you’re in France”
Alex and Kate chose an intimate ceremony. This was held at the beautiful wedding location of Domaine d’Heerstaayen. I arrived here, together with the other guests, after I had left my first impression and shoot in Hotel Arena behind me. Domaine d’Heerstaayen is a location that makes an immediate impression. For a split second, you think you’re in France, especially as soon as you notice the surrounding vineyards and the warm Provencal colours of the property. Wine lovers will find their ultimate wedding location in Domaine d’Heerstaayen. The wines you drink there come from their own vineyards.
For Alex and Kate, the moment of the day was finally there. The wedding ceremony was about to start and took place in the botanical garden of Domaine d’Heerstaayen. Chickens happily roamed around. Only a few times they shamelessly interrupt the ceremony. The wedding ceremony was conducted by Kate’s aunt. She spoke about hilarious anecdotes from friends, about the wonderful relationship between Kate and Alex and the beautiful years that lay ahead of them.
“An enchanting combination between charming Amsterdam and romantic d’Heerstaayen”
Be enchanted by the wedding of Kate and Alex and watch the beautiful wedding report. A day that starts in charming Amsterdam and ends with candlelight and crackling fires in a French atmosphere. This is the sparkling and botanical wedding of Kate and Alex.
